Types of Visitation
Community Spread Precaution Visitation: requires all visitors to comply with the following:
- Non-medical in-person visits will NOT be allowed inside the community
- Patio and Window Visits permitted
- Visits must be conducted in the community’s designated visitations areas only.
- Visits must be pre-scheduled with the community receptionist.
- Visiting hours for patio and window visits are limited to 10:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. (Monday – Sunday)
- Please limit your visit to 15 minutes
- Limited hours are to protect residents from increased exposure
- Wear a mask at all times while visiting
- Remain at least 6 feet from residents at all times during the visit – no touching, hugging, kissing
- Only two family members allowed per visit.
- Visitors who do not comply with the visitation guidelines will be required to leave the community and not allowed to return until January 1, 2021 when communicable disease status will be reassessed – no exceptions will be made!!
- Virtual Visits offered
- Visits must be pre-scheduled with community receptionist. Community will supply resident with device needed to complete this type of visit.
- Daily Visitation Hours
- 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Zoom and Skype are the only two virtual platforms offered by the community at this time
- Please limit your visit to 15 minutes
- Hospice/Home Health/Visiting Physicians: Visits will be conducted, Provider must don full PPE (agency provides) at the entrance of the community, be strictly screened for symptoms/temp, etc. May not use public restrooms or resident bathrooms other than to wash hands and use single use toweling.
- Therapy: Allowed in community if agency only serves specific community. Outside therapists who serve other communities must don full PPE (agency provides) at the entrance of the community, be strictly screened for symptoms/temp, etc. May not use public restroom or resident bathrooms other than to wash hands and use single use toweling.
- Residents may attend medically necessary appointments only
- If community is not transporting resident to appointment, individual transporting resident will be screen at Reception prior to resident leaving for appointment
- Those with symptoms or a temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit will not be allowed to transport resident
- Both resident and transporting individual must wear mask entire time outside of community
- Resident will be screened upon return at Reception prior to proceeding into the community
- If community is not transporting resident to appointment, individual transporting resident will be screen at Reception prior to resident leaving for appointment
- On-site beautician: Allowed in community if beautician(s) only serves specific community. Beautician(s) must don full PPE (beautician(s) supplies) at the entrance of the community, be strictly screened for symptoms/temp, etc. May not use public restrooms or resident bathrooms other than to wash hands and use single use toweling.
Open to Visitation: requires all visitors to comply with the following:
- Come directly from home wearing freshly laundered clothing
- Empty bladder/bowel prior to visiting – visitors MAY NOT use public bathrooms or resident bathrooms
- Be screened at Reception prior to proceeding into the community
- Be screened for COVID-19 symptoms including temperature
- Those with symptoms or a temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit will not be allowed entry to the community
- Wear a mask at all times while in the community, including inside resident apartments
- Visitors who do not comply with the visitation guidelines will be required to leave the community and not allowed to return until January 1, 2021 when communicable disease status will be reassessed – no exceptions will be made!!
- Remain at least 6 feet from residents at all times during the visit
- Go directly from Reception to the resident’s apartment
- May not be in the common spaces of the community, including hallways, except when going to / from resident apartment
- Visiting hours are limited to: 10 a.m. to noon AND 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Monday – Sunday)
- Limited hours are to protect staff from visitor exposure when passing medications or providing cares. Staff will not enter apartments during these hours unless medically necessary or requested by the resident.
- No visitation is allowed on Housekeeping/Shower/Laundry day to allow staff to clean apartment, strip and re-make bed(s) and complete laundry without exposure to outside visitors.
- Only two visitors permitted inside of resident’s apartment to ensure safe social distancing
Closed to Visitation: bans all visitors (including therapists) except the following:
- Hospice: Visits will be conducted via Zoom unless resident is actively passing in which case, Hospice RN must don full PPE (Hospice provides) at the entrance of the community, be screened for symptoms/temp, etc. May not use public restrooms or resident bathrooms other than to wash hands and use single use toweling.
- Home Health Providers: May enter for life safety (catheter change / wound care) reasons after complying with all bullet statements under “Open to Visitation” above.
- Visiting Physicians: Must comply with all bullet statements under “Open to Visitation” above.
Essential Visitors (EVs): (Not active at this time. We will update this to active once EV’s are permitted inside the communities)
Each resident will be asked to designate two “Essential Visitors” who will be allowed into the community even during quarantined periods. The Essential Visitors will not be allowed into an apartment when the resident is positive for COVID. This is to keep the virus from spreading to a visitor and being carried into the local community.
A list with each apartment number, resident name and the two Essential Visitors names will be kept at the front entrance to refer to when EVs are visiting.
Essential Visitors:
- May visit any day of the week between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. (this includes weekends and holidays).
- There may be extended wait times for a staff member to answer the door and provide screening/badge services if visitors come when there is no receptionist. Please check dates and times receptionists are assigned to front entrances to avoid waiting.
- Must be screened for symptoms prior to entering the community for each visit
- Must pick up a laminated visitor’s pass at the front entrance and wear it in a visible place at all times AND return it to the container marked “badges to be sanitized” prior to leaving the community (located at the entrance/exit). Badges taken out of the community will not be replaced and must be returned to the community to continue visiting during periods of quarantine.
- Must wear a mask at ALL times (including in the resident apartment)
- May not stop to visit staff, the director or other residents – please call or email the community to discuss concerns or to ask questions.
- Must do everything possible to protect our residents and staff – wear a mask, wash hands, visit wearing clean clothing and outerwear, stay 6 feet apart, etc.
- May not visit during meal times (8a-9a), (12p-1p) & (5p-6p)
- May not relinquish this position to other family members or friends.
- May bring in supplies, gifts, personal products, etc. for resident use.
